Growth Ultrasound this morning

All is good in the land of baby! Finn is measuring 38 weeks and Sawyer is 36 weeks. They are both estimated to weigh about 7 pds. (give or take a pound). I go in on Tuesday for a stress test to make sure the boys are coping with having no room to move.

I'll keep you posted!!

Was that a compliment???

Went to the dr. today - blood pressure great - have gained 45 pds. no swelling, no bleeding, braxton hicks contractions aren't anything I can't deal with. The dr. said you know, I don't say this often but you carrying these twins has been impressive and you just might go to 38 weeks! HOLY MOLY!! Was that a compliment from my dr??? He also said I am NOT dialated at all - my cervix is the same and he said my uterus was measuring 46 weeks. Ugghh!!! I was so hot in the office the paper stuff on the table was sticking to me everywhere. I had to peel it off once I got up.

Next week if I make it, we'll have an ultrasound on the boys to see how big they've gotten.

Other than that, we're still hanging in there and just waiting............

I'll keep you posted!

Just waiting....

Still no babies! My hips are killing me and they "pop" quite a bit at night when I roll over to change sides seeking comfort. The boys are still wiggling around a lot and seem somewhat lower than they were earlier in the week. I went to the dr. on Thursday and he determined that I am 70% effaced which means my cervix is thinning. I have an appointment on Friday to be re-checked and then the next week for another growth ultrasound. It is so hard for me to get around because the pain in my lower torso and hips is really bad. Once I get up and start moving around I can usually stay going for awhile but once I sit down and get back up, it's painful.

It's suppose to rain today and tonight and there is a full moon tomorrow. Maybe the moon will bring the babies. Who knows!

I'll keep you all posted!

Dr. appt. today

I had a growth ultrasound on the boys this morning! I've finally hit the 40 pds. gained mark which is perfect for twins (now let's hope it all comes off). Finn is measuring a few days bigger than Sawyer but both are over 34 weeks in development. I am 33 weeks this week. The dr. said if they came it wouldn't be until the end of April and that he would like to see me make it a couple more weeks.

Next week I start getting my cervix checked at each visit to make sure there is no sneaky dilation. If I can make it for 5 more weeks - we probably wouldn't even have to visit the NICU. Although, if for some reason the little guys did make a surprise appearance, the dr. believes they would be fine (with a brief stay in the NICU).

Other than that, I can take Prilosec for heartburn which is fantastic news cause I've had some yucky heartburn, over the counter sleeping aids (not that I am going to) and I should start trying to do a little massaging on my hands if I can stand it. My joint between my pointer and middle finger on the left hand has been killing me for 2 weeks and my right middle finger feels like it's broken. I've tried a couple of times to massage but it just hurts way too much.

It's getting harder to be mobile and I loose my breath quickly. Going upstairs is a task in itself. I spend a lot of time in the tub and in bed. I've found a new vampire game on Facebook and have been playing that for a couple of days. Just trying to pass the time!

I'll post more next week or if anything comes up!

It's been a month

Sorry for the delay in updating this blog! Let's see - the shower was great! We got lots of diapers (which is always helpful) and some other really personal gifts. The food was yummy, the cakes beautiful (thank you Nana!), and the atmosphere was perfect (thank you Aunt Chris!). My friend Jessica and her baby Elijah (Baby Eli for short) were here to help us celebrate and it was so awesome having her here. I wish she lived closer.

The babies clothes have all been washed, organized and put away. The changing table has been brought down and setup, with wipes warmers, lots of diapers and storage bins. The crib is ready complete with toys, mobiles, new sheets and comforters. My bag is sort-of packed and I have a couple of nursing pajamas that should get me through my stay at the hospital.

Peter is rockin' it at his new job and is happy. I haven't stopped doing any of my networking stuff and actually have an event tonight at Lollipop Decor. This will probably be the last event I attend as I just don't know what will happen in the next few weeks. The next thing is a lunch on April 21st so if I am able, I will attend. Hickory Women is up and running and they are getting new members without them ever attending their first meeting because the buzz is so positive. I have a new web lady doing the websites for me, Stacie Mounts, and she is awesome. I am so glad she came along when she did.

Other than that, the boys are wiggle worms that you can see rolling across my belly which to me is cool but to Peter it creeps him out. Ava and Jaylen like feeling them move under their hands and they lay their heads on my belly to feel the boys move on their faces. Chris and Heather are my go to people if I go into labor in the middle of the night so I feel very relaxed about that. I freaked out last night because I woke up wondering what in the world we would do if I did go into labor in the middle of the night.

I did find one new cool product called a Milk Maid Bottle Holder click here:
http://www.greatbabyproducts.com/Baby_Bottle_Holder_p/prod-mm220.htm
I believe this could be helpful! I'm going to see if I can find out any other information about it.

There are a few things left to get but for now, we are as set as we can be! I have a dr. appt. and growth ultrasound next week so I'll post more then!

Ta ta!

Shower news and new stuff for the boys

Well it's official! The shower is going to be on March 28, 2009, hopefully at the neighborhood clubhouse. We will know for sure if that will be the location in a few days. Our theme will be ocean/underwater and Candace is planning lots of fun stuff. It just so happens that the shower will take place the same time Jessica and Eli are coming for their visit!!! I can't wait to see them. Nana is also going to come in and be able to enjoy the shower as well!! Nana is going to stay at Gammaw and Pappaw's house so at least she'll get some sleep!

Nana and Zeda got the boys stroller so now if Sawyer and Finn make a surprise appearance in the next few weeks, we're ready for them except for swings and diapers! Our pattern for the car seat and stroller are: Melbourne by Graco

I also received some swaddle me wraps:

I found this ad in one of the baby magazines and flipped over it! These little things were created by a mom/md for her daughter and make all the sense in the world to me. They are called Pacimals and they are a new "twist" on pacifiers. They are huggable pacifiers. The website is http://www.pacimals.com/ - They have a sweet little video on their site that will explain just exactly what these things are. I let Ava and Jaylen pick out which ones they liked the best.

Ava picked out Callie the cat:

And Jaylen picked out Macey the Mouse:

Oh yea - I forgot to post a picture of the Halloween costumes - you all know how much I LOVE/OBSESS over Halloween - I found these little costumes awhile ago and couldn't resist!

Let's see, what can I blab about.......I've been sick with a cold for the last few days. My throat has been hurting, really badly at night which is why it is 5:00 a.m. and I can't sleep so I thought I'd post.
I don't go back to the dr. until 3/3 so I won't have much to report on the boys between now and then. I did however have one heck of a contraction today! Peter, the girls and myself went to the grocery store for a little over an hour and on our way home I started feeling really queasy. When we got home, I got out of the car, started up the steps and it hit......I couldn't straighten up for a few minutes. Everything just got really super tight and kinda took my breath away. Since I've never even experienced braxton hicks contractions before, this was a little shock. I hunched over, made it to the bed, got on all fours and just started rocking back and forth. After a few minutes I felt the pressure and tightness subsiding but it lingered for just a bit. Needless to say, I didn't enjoy it. I guess it's just a sign of things to come and a reminder that with this pregnancy, I have to take it super easy. I really don't want to end up on bedrest again BUT - I did share with Peter that the only time I am truly comfortable is when I am in my recliner (thanks gammaw and pappaw!!!!) or when I am laying down. I feel so badly that I can't help out more. Peter has been a CHAMP throughout the whole thing. He made a kick a** dinner last night. We had Paula Dean's crabcakes (mom made them for Valentine's Day and we LOVED them), beef stew and a Caesar salad with the dressing he made from scratch. OMG the whole thing was YUMMY!!! Maybe he should have been a chef! All I know is that I am so lucky! He's even stopped making brownies and chocolate cake since I can't have any. It's just tooo tempting when that stuff is sitting right in front of my face.
Ummmm, what else.....I've been reading a ton and finish a book in about a day and 1/2. I am stuck on Laurell K. Hamilton's books - you know, vampires, werewolves, creepy stuff. I am just waiting to see if Stephanie Meyer - author of the Twilight Series will follow up with another book.
Alright - gonna get off of here - I'll keep you all posted!

We have an official due date!

I went to the dr. this past Tuesday for my gestational diabetes test and apparently passed. I hope that doesn't mean he'll make me do it again. I've been keeping track of my readings and so far, I've been in the normal. I won't get my hopes up and will keep eating the way I have been just to make sure it doesn't develop.

I spoke with my dr. about scheduling my c-section at 38 weeks and he agreed to the date of

5-14-09. He doesn't think I will make it til then but if I do, that will be our due date. That is also my father's birthday. He's very excited - I just hope I can keep them cookin' til then.

I had a LKN Women meeting last night with 40 women in attendance and it turned out great. We had several new ladies join there on the spot and that made me HAPPY!!!

I finally bought a couple of items for me and the babies. I got my breastfeeding pillow: http://www.doubleblessings.co/m/servlet/Detail?no=271 ;

Wiggle Worms!!!

The babies are growing and now I can feel them moving around A LOT! Peter has finally been able to feel them over the last few days. I've tried to have the girls put their hands on my tummy to feel them but they don't have the patience for it.

I have a new game for the girls which they love. I've taken several baby catalogues (Target, Babies R Us, etc.) and I have them take a pen to circle all the things they would like to get for the babies. It keeps them occupied for awhile and they enjoy picking things out. They've decided that Ava will take care of Sawyer and Jaylen will take care of Finn. I hope they decide to take turns with both!

As far as my weight goes, I haven't gained any in the last 3+ weeks but am still getting bigger. So far I am still at 20 pounds.

This past week I've been able to get out quite a bit more and have been enjoying seeing all my friends and business acquaintances. I was able to go to Amazing Pottery on Saturday night and was met with a surprise. Fifi, my friend and owner of Amazing Pottery saved a giant fish platter for me. I fell in love with it the first time I saw it and she gave it to me as a Christmas present to paint. I can't wait to get it back. It's magnificent. I hope to keep it displayed on the kitchen counter. Fifi is such a sweet lady and I just love being around her. She's funny, caring and just makes me happy.

I also got to go to Fifi's Fine Resale on Thursday night for a Diva night there. Not that I can wear any of the clothes right now but it was nice to meet some new ladies. The owner of Fifi's is Julia Austin and is the hostess for February for LKN Women. I believe we will have a really nice meeting and at least there will be several new ladies that have never been there. It's all about promoting each others business.

Tomorrow is our monthly lunch at The Tea House and should have about 20 ladies in attendance. I love The Tea House and am so thankful that we have a member like Terri, the owner in our group.

I've left a message with Watch Me Grow Ultrasound to see when I can get a 3-D ultrasound of the boys. They can actually do a streaming web video while it's being done so hopefully Nanna and Zeda will be able to see them along with us. If there is anyway I can post it in the blog, I will!

The girls and I are watching the 44th President of the United States be inaugrated. I couldn't get them to watch it at first but we've turned it into a history lesson. They seem to be into it now. Aretha Franklin is singing My Country Tis of The. I have chills and am happy to be witnessing this historical event.

Other than that, the wiggle worms are wiggling and all is great right now.

All quiet on the baby front!

Other than getting bigger by the day, having really bad lower back pain and the occasional headache, life is great! The babies are becoming more active and hopefully Peter and the girls will be able to feel them moving soon. I go back to the dr. in a month at which time I will be tested for gestational diabetes, per my request. Since I am prone to having it, I thought we should test for it a little early. The dr. agreed so instead of 26 weeks, we will do it at 24. I haven't been eating anything with sugar except some of my mama's cheesecake! I've been accused of eating ice cream which is a mystery to me because I haven't had any so I don't know where that came from, really!

My dr. said my weight gain is perfect, my measurements are exact so any "comments" other than the dr.'s will be ignored - I'll just remember the source. A lady at the grocery store asked me when I was due - I could tell the way she was looking at me, she was expecting me to say any day. I told her I was 1/2 way thru my pregnancy, that I was carrying twin boys, that this is my third pregnancy and that I am 39 yrs. old. She said that by the end I was going to need a wheelbarrow. I started laughing and told her she was probably right! She was harmless so that didn't really bother me, just made me laugh at her forwardness!

This past Wednesday I was able to attend my LKN Women meeting and I am soooo happy I did! This one 3 of us made the food, kept the cost down and had a GREAT turnout. We also started taking payment thru Meetup.com which several of the people really liked because if they R.S.V.P. online, they only pay 1/2 the price. It was so wonderful to see all the members as well as the surprising amount of new ladies in attendance. My belly was rubbed, I was told how beautiful I looked and that I was all babies which is how I feel. The meeting was so nice and the setting was perfect for us. I hope we are able to do some other things there because the place is perfect!

On Monday of this week I got 5 graphic design jobs so I need to get back to work but thought I'd share a little of my past week!

Til next time!

Dr. appointment today

Went to the Dr. today and all is great! No ultrasound today but the heartbeats are perfect and nice and strong!

Other than that - life is great! Tomorrow night is LKN Women's January meeting and I get to go! Yippee!! It should be a great turnout and I am so excited I will get to see everyone.

The babies are really starting to move around a lot more and it makes me smile knowing my 2 boys are growing, growing, growing.

I'll keep you posted!
